Argon 5, also known as Grade 5 Argon, is a high-purity inert gas with a purity level of 99.999%, making it ideal for applications that demand the highest gas quality and stability.
✅ Properties
It is a colorless, odorless, monatomic, inert gas. Argon weighs 1.4 times more than air and forms a stable airflow layer above the weld pool, providing excellent protection. Furthermore, during welding, it produces less smoke, making it easier to control the weld pool and arc. Argon is an inert gas that does not chemically react with other substances at room temperature and is insoluble in liquid metal at high temperatures, making it particularly advantageous when welding non-ferrous metals. Argon is a monatomic gas that dissociates directly into positive ions and electrons at high temperatures, resulting in low energy loss and stable arc combustion.
✅ Applications
Argon is primarily used in welding, stainless steel fabrication, and smelting. It is also used in semiconductor manufacturing processes such as chemical vapor deposition, crystal growth, thermal oxidation, epitaxy, diffusion, polysilicon, tungstenization, ion implantation, current carrying, and sintering. It is used as a carrier gas, standard gas, balance gas, and zero-point gas for instruments such as ICP and gas chromatographs.
