Neon

Neon is a colorless, odorless and odorless gas. It is gaseous at room temperature and is an inert gas. Its melting point is -248.67°C and its boiling point is 246°C. Since neon gas is a rare gas, most companies have limited supply capacity. At present, neon gas is in short supply all over the world. With the continuous increase in demand, the price of neon gas is also increasing.

Process

Neon is obtained from air separation plants. In view of its very low natural concentration in air, it is only economically viable to recover neon from larger air separation plants. In these cases small quantities of neon area recovered by splitting a crude neon stream from the plant and processing this in a separate purification and distillation system.
